The Philip Glass Ensemble (PGE) comprises the principal performers of the music of Philip Glass. In 1968, Glass founded the PGE in NYC as a laboratory for his music to develop a performance practice to meet the unprecedented technical and artistic demands of his compositions. In pioneering this approach, the PGE became a creative wellspring for Glass, and its members remain inimitable interpreters of his work.

This performance will feature a FREE pre-show talk beginning at 6:00PM, featuring Dr. Huck Hodge, acclaimed composer and professor at the University of Washington, in conversation with members of the Philip Glass Ensemble. This 45-minute discussion will offer a deep dive into the work of Philip Glass, exploring the intricate textures and emotional landscapes of Philip Glass’s compositions to deepen your understanding of contemporary music and Glass’s enduring impact on the world of minimalism.

*Patrons attending the 7:30PM presentation of Philip Glass Ensemble must also register separately for the Pre-Show Talk if they wish to attend.
